George was a nice neighbor who was kind and kept to himself but always a man of character. I´m sorry for your loss but he lives on through his work and his family and faith.

Dr. Mauerman had helped me adapt to the Hurricane way of life as a new officer at TU. He always took time to stop and visit for a moment, which meant very much to me. I am very thankful to have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Mauerman. Always putting his colleagues and players first.

What a wonderful man Dr. Mauerman was. I first became aware of this fine man when I was 15 years old, recuperating from a motorcycle wreck under the care of one of his colleagues in his practice, Dr. Peter back. In those days we had semi private rooms at Saint Francis Hospital, and one of my roommates was a TU quarterback that had experienced a serious knee injury in spring football that spring. He would come in almost every day and was so positive and has so much energy. It was amazing when he entered the room it was like, someone in the Marine Corps just walked in and told you to get your stuff together, lol. He was old-school and was such a caring and talented physician, but better than that you could say he was an amazing person, and really cared for this young man who is lying next to me and very dejected. I´m sure that young man who is about 67 remembers his doctor well to this very day. Seeing him on the sidelines during mini TU games was very neat after all those years. Rest in peace, Dr. George Mauerman and all the residents and angels in heaven are very fortunate now to have you as their a resident orthopedic surgeon
