Iris Daniel Obituary

Iris Kathleen Daniel was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 2, 1930 to Joseph Curtis and Gertrude Mae Williams. She passed from this life peacefully on September 24, 2025. Iris lived a life full of elegance, joy, and laughter. She had a natural eye for fashion and a love for the finer things, always carrying herself with grace and style. More than anything, Iris shared her vibrant spirit through her laughter, which lit up every room she entered.

She is survived by her sons, Fred Daniel, III and John Curtis Daniel, and daughter, Susan Daniel Bahner and husband, Stephen Brent Bahner. Six granddaughters, Sara Elizabeth Eastman and husband, Ryan; Ann Kathleen Heinzelmann and husband, Ben; Katherine Susanne Kuntz and husband, DJ; Grace Emma Daniel, Susannah Kathryn Daniel and Bella Donna Daniel. Six great-grandchildren, Ella and Jack Eastman, Adeline and Bahner Heinzelmann and Carter and Crosby Kuntz. Nieces, Ann Daniel Stone, Carolyn Daniel, Marsha Sperling and Ruthie Ramey. A nephew, Lense Ramey. Also special friends, Pamela Klein and Jermaine Gresham. Iris was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Betty Moore and Norma Ramey, and very devoted husband of 55 years, Fred Daniel, Jr.

On October 5, 1956, Iris Kathleen Williams married the love of her life, Fred Daniel Jr. Together they built a beautiful life filled with friendship, laughter, and adventure, often enjoying evenings out and traveling with close friends. Once their children came along, they began a cherished tradition of driving to Destin, Florida every summer, a trip they joyfully continued for more than 40 years.

In her younger years, she enjoyed tap dancing, tennis and golf. One of her proudest accomplishments was making a hole-in-one at Southern Hills Country Club, a remarkable feat that even many professional golfers never achieve. She was also an avid bridge player and could often be found shopping, something she turned into an art form. Known for never wearing the same outfit twice, Iris always had the perfect purse to match, and she embraced life with flair and confidence.

Iris was active in many organizations such as the Tulsa Opera Guild and Junior League of Tulsa. She also volunteered at the PGA Tour Events and the Miss Oklahoma pageant.

Her granddaughters hold countless beautiful memories of holidays, summer weeks, Destin trips, and weekends spent with their Mimi. Their favorite outings were shopping trips to Utica Square, followed by lunch or dinner together. For them, those moments will always be priceless reminders of Iris's love, style, and zest for life.

Iris was the life of every party-quick to share her opinion, always ready to laugh, and forever leaving an impression on everyone she met. She was deeply loved, especially by her family, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

A private family service was held to honor her life, and the family deeply appreciates the love, prayers, and support from friends and loved ones during this time.

A special thank you to the Porta Caeli House at Catholic Charities for their exceptional care of our mother and to the compassion they showed to our family during her last days.

The family would also like to thank the ladies that took special care of Iris during her time at home: Pamela, Tonya, Lenora, Claire, Brandi and Karlee.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Town & Country School (8906 East 34th Street, Tulsa, OK 74145) or First Tee of Tulsa (PO Box 702298, Tulsa, OK 74115).
