Jacqueline (Jackie) Rule Robertson

Jacqueline (Jackie) Rule Robertson, of Sapulpa, OK departed from this earth on March 21, 2026, at the age of 102 years – just 28 days from her 103rd birthday. Jackie was born on April 19, 1923 in Afton, OK to Otis and Lorena Rule. She graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1941 and was voted Outstanding Girl by her classmates. She was a Cherokee Nation tribal member and was very proud of her heritage.
She married Hobart Roberson, Jr. on March 6, 1943 and they had two children, David and Deborah. Jackie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sapulpa beginning with South Methodist Church of Sapulpa in 1928. She served in many capacities of the church including the United Methodist Women for years. She was proud to say she was on the "Cradle Roll" of the church. Jackie was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1937 and was the longest serving member in the state of Oklahoma. She was also a member of the Cleo Farr American Legion Auxiliary Post 240 in Salina, OK. She attended the very first Girls State in 1940 and served as a Senior Counselor at Girls State for 18 years. Jackie retired from Lon T. Jackson Insurance Agency after 35 years in the insurance industry. She had obtained her Insurance Agents License and Certified Professional Insurance Woman certification during her years with the agency and served as past president of the Insurance Women of Tulsa 1979-80. She also served on the board of the Sapulpa Historical Society and as a docent for over 20 years.
Through the years Jackie enjoyed traveling with her husband and their camper group, playing bunco with her church group, putting out seed for the birds and watching them from her dining room window, attending her grandchildren's events and activities, and hosting family dinners. She was able to drive herself and live in her home alone until the age of 99. She enjoyed playing bingo and has held the title for the oldest person at the Elders Event during the Cherokee National Holiday for the past five years. On August 29, 2025, she was honored at the Cherokee National Holiday Veteran's Luncheon where she was inducted into the Oklahoma Military Hall of Honor as a civilian.
Jackie is survived by her son, David K. Roberston and late spouse Marty, of Tulsa OK, Deborah Robertson Smoke and late spouse William, of Peggs OK, grandchildren Brigid Roberston Turner of Tulsa OK, Andrew Robertson and wife Leslie of Collinsville OK, Audra Smoke Conner and husband D.J. of Peggs OK. Great-Grandchildren Eli Robertson, Mahala Turner, Tyler Turner, Jacob Morton, Nicole Turner, Ryan Turner, Mackenzie Roberston, Alex Robertson, Trey Conner, Lynsey Conner, and Macey Conner. Great-great grandchildren Dion, Riley and Whelan Gourd, many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
Jackie is preceded in death by her husband Hobart Roberston, Jr., parents Otis and Lorena Rule, brother Lewis Rule, sister Joanna Rule Warfield, and sister Jean Rule Evans.
Services will be held on April 1, 2026, at Sapulpa Methodist Church at 1 p.m.
