John Neligan Obituary

NELIGAN -- John Joseph "Jack". Joined our heavenly Father on Friday, August 12, 2005, passing through his much loved blue skies to the Lord's Eternal Kingdom. Born of Irish immigrants in Brooklyn, NY, on October 13, 1940, Jack is survived by his devoted wife of 43 wonderful years, Bonnie. Also survived by his beloved sons, Dave, Brian and John Neligan and daughter, Shari Johnson and her husband, Kelly. Jack was the much loved grandfather to his sweet granddaughter, Mary. He was the beloved brother of Denis Neligan; and leaves behind many special sisters and brothers-in-law; mother-in-law; cousins; nephews; nieces; and many dear friends. He served his country bravely with the U.S. Navy on board the USS Independence during the dark hours of the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a man of great faith and Irish-American patriotism. Jack's humorous outlook on life was enhanced only by his strong sense of family and his work ethic. His love of his 35 year career with American Airlines was marked by numerous commendations of excellence. Dad, you always danced as if no one was watching, sung as if no one was listening, and lived a full life as if every day was your last. You will be sorely missed, but the love and heritage you left with us will go on eternally. Family visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, August 14, 2005. Rosary service will be at Floral Haven Chapel, 7 p.m., Sunday, August 14, 2005. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2005, at St. Benedict's Catholic Church and burial will take place in Maryland on Tuesday. Floral Haven, 252-2518
