Joseph John Joseph Robin died on Saturday, July 1, after a miraculous 17 days of life. He is survived by his parents, Ben & Anna, and his two big sisters, Phoebe (4) and Polly (2). John Joseph is also survived by his grandparents, Rick & Judy White of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Henry & Annabeth Robin of Jenks, Oklahoma, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

At his 20-week ultrasound, pre-birth, John was diagnosed with a very rare, terminal brain abnormality called alobar holoproscencephaly. Doctors did not expect him to survive both pregnancy and birth. Yet, Jesus Christ, the One who Himself conquered death, mercifully granted a full-term pregnancy and more than two weeks for John to be with his family in this life.

As such, from the ground, John still speaks. His short life testifies that the light has shone in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it (John 1:5). Though John was not the light, he came and bears witness to Jesus, the One who is (John 1:8). Anyone who turns from sin and trusts in Him will enjoy eternal life with God in glory.

Though no parent should ever have to bury a child, John's parents take great comfort in the fact that their Heavenly Father, too, knows what it's like to lose His only Son (Romans 8:32).

A short graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 8th at 11am at Greenwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's memory to Trinity River Baptist Church or Abel Speaks.
