Leo & Margaret were my neighbors for 13+ years & I could not have asked for more kind, considerate people to live next to for so long. I will continue to hold dear the memories of receiving the bounties from his garden each year. I always looked forward to seeing people driving through the neighborhood noticing the cotton being grown on the side of the road. Sometimes they would run out of the car to grab a bit of raw cotton, like they were doing something naughty. But Leo got a real kick out of still being a "cotton farmer" & loving that others wanted to get their hands on some of his crop. I am thankful for the memories of having a support system when I lost my foster child to muscular dystrophy. I was also very thankful for their support when I was able to start fostering 2 new kids. Margaret, my heart is absolutely broken for you. Leo was one of a kind and he will be sorely missed. I wish you peace & condolence for your immeasurable loss.

Leo Dayer was a very good postal empoyee, a carrier for 50 years. During my time he was always cheerful and usually had something wise to say-usually in a low tone, followed by a big smile. Just a good ole guy. RIP

Margaret, Joey, and Denise,

Having grown up right around the corner from your house, I have fond memories, as my siblings do, of Leo. He was always friendly and wore a smile. I often saw him in his postal uniform, and being a little kid, that memory is still vivid. He looked so important, and he was. I cannot even recall the last time seeing a letter carrier in uniform. Those days were special and seem long gone.
Margaret, thanks so much for helping my mother, Anita, over the years when you could as she fought MS. Mom always appreciated you, your giving nature and thoughtfulness. Denise and Joey, remember you well from Saint Mary's.

My sister, Teresa, and brother, Steve and I will keep your family in our prayers.
