Lewis Cline Obituary

CLINE - Lewis Richard "Dick", of Tulsa quietly passed away on Friday, March 28, 2008, at Clare House, at the age of 73. Born in Tulsa, OK on August 27, 1934, the son of Charles Cameron and Lena Evelyn Cline, and brother to Charles "Chuck" Cline. Dick was a lifelong Tulsan, a point of pride to which he often spoke. Dick grew up on the west side of Tulsa and then proudly attended Oklahoma Military Academy in Claremore. These days he considered the best of his life. In 1954 Dick enrolled at Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater and earned a BS in Business. It was there that Dick met and eventually married Cheryl Jeanine Bost. Married in 1955, the couple had 3 children; Christy, Colleen, and Casey. Dick worked as a heavy equipment and pipeline product salesman to the pipeline industry, traveling the country and making friends wherever he went. His life on the road was another source of pride, and he was always ready to get on the road for a new adventure. In 1981 he married Terri Tolbert of Broken Arrow, OK and they eventually had a daughter, Chelsey. During their marriage, Dick participated in many business ventures, and enjoyed time spent with his family volunteering for theater arts and was a founding member of Theater Arts Production. Later he enjoyed a daily routine of chores that he loved. It was at this time that Dick began to enjoy a life of traveling, fishing, and spending time with friends and family. He is survived by: his wife, Terri Cline of Tulsa; children: Christy Cline Taylor, Colleen Cline, and Chelsey Cline of Tulsa, and Casey and Paige Cline of Boise, ID. He is also survived by: his 5 grandchildren, Lacey Ruggles of Denver, CO, Carly Taylor and Nicoa Cline of Tulsa, and Kylie and Kami Cline of Boise, ID. Service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Oklahoma Military Academy Museum on the Rogers State University campus in Claremore. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Clarehouse, (7324 E 49th Place No. 3 Tulsa, OK 74145), Hospice of Green Country (2121 S. At the round table of life where full of life living spirits are assembled,Dick made his presence known as a welcomed visitor and a host without equal. After a ski run, a backpack trip, a post or pre party, it didn't matter. Dick was a wonderful spirit--He is missed. Fellow TSC member

What a great guy! Always on the verge of a laugh! He loved his own jokes and we all laughed again even though we'd heard some before because they were still funny. Positive in word and deed, loved his friends and family and always had something good to say to them or about them. We'll never forget you my friend and from time to time we will have a glass of red wine with ice chips and enjoy a special memory of you.

Dear Terri, Chelsey, Colleen, Christy, and Casey and families

I am soooo sorry to hear of the loss of Dick. He was such a wonderful man and although its been over 20 years since he was really a part of my life, I still think fondly of him. He was always wonderful to me. I just found out today about his passing. I would have come to pay my respects had I known about it. Whats odd to me is that I found myself thinking of him the other day and smiled. I know you all suffered such a great loss and may God give you peace. I am so happy I had the chance to meet this man and know him, although it was for like a nanosecond of his life.

Dear Terri and Chelsey,
I will always remember Dick's positive attitude and upbeat spirit. Truly enjoyed seeing him when Chelsey and Casey were attending HH. Time passes so fast, but the great memories you and your family have of him is his legacy to you and all of us. May God bless and comfort you and your family in your loss.

Dream ** Smile ** Live ** Laugh....
Abundant with fresh ideas, Dick never forgot how to dream. I always enjoyed his goofy grin and up-beat style. My heart felt sympathy goes out to the Cline families. With Christy, Colleen, Casey, and the rest of the neighborhood gang, we had our own "70's Show" and Dick was a colorful Dad character. He marched to his own beat and brought laughter to everyone he met.

I am proud that I was a part of Dick's, a.k.a. "Pop's" life by extended family. A tremendous grandpa to my nieces, I never saw him without a smile on his face or a wink in his eye. He lived life to the fullest and always took time out to sit down with me and ask about the family. His terrific sense of humor and wonderful stories will be sadly missed, but very fondly remembered in celebration of his life well lived.

Ever since our Oklahoma Military Academy days, Dick was one of a kind that has been a friend for 58 plus years. A great guy with a good heart. A crazy guy always good for a laugh with a joke or amusing tale. We will miss the experiences and the comaraderie we shared with him over the years. We express sympathy to all of his family. We are profoundly sad of this loss. He will be sorely missed and we will not forget.
