Linda Stilley

1948 - 2025

Black and white print will hardly suffice to describe a life lived in full technicolor, but we will try.

Linda Stilley - friend, artist, sweetheart, teacher, songstress, traveler, hostess-with-the-mostest, and constant fireball has left us.

Roughly 50 years ago, she began teaching art at Booker T's International Baccalaureate Program. Her unyielding demands of her students garnered them multiple scholarships to prestigious art colleges, and she was nationally recognized for producing young adults with highly competent portfolios.

Linda's vocal talents took her through a USO tour, then professionally singing with a number of other performers, a variety of bands for club venues, and being a choir member for Voices of Unity.

Her ceramics, multi-media works, and paintings were the highlight of countless galleries and collections, winning her awards and national recognition.

All of this and more, but the most we will miss is her unflagging generosity. Her doors were always open, her table was always full, her entertainment was ceaseless, and her enthusiasm for anything new was contagious.

She lived without regret. She was fearless. She mirrored Mae West's quote: "Too much of a good thing can be wonderful."

We send her spirit forward and thank her for being a force in our lives.
