Nancy McFarlin Obituary

Nancy L. (Crain) McFarlin

Nancy Lou (Crain) McFarlin passed away January 10, 2023, after a brief illness.

Nancy was born January 24, 1931, in Kansas City, Missouri. Her parents were R. Kenneth and Blanch Myrdith (Craig) Crain. She was raised in Jenks, Oklahoma, during her younger years, where her parents owned and operated the Bank of Commerce. She attended schools at Jenks Public Schools, Monte Cassino Catholic School, Holland Hall, and graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1948. She attended college at The University of Tulsa and Drury College. Nancy married John Thomas "Tom" McFarlin May 6, 1951, in Cassville, MO, and they were married 57 years. In 1952, the couple moved from Cassville to Tulsa where Tom joined National Bank of Tulsa, now known as Bank of Oklahoma. In 1956, Nancy and Tom moved to Pryor, OK, when Tom went to work for Nancy's parents, at the American National Bank of Pryor. In 1973, the couple together organized the Lakeside Bank of Salina in Oklahoma, where Nancy was vice president. In 1991, they sold the bank and retired, moving to the Yorktown Condominiums in Tulsa, where Nancy remained for over 31 years until her peaceful passing in her home. Nancy is survived by her son, Stephen Crain McFarlin (Julie) of Broken Arrow; daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Ann Boese of Tulsa; and son, Craig Thomas McFarlin of Houston. In addition, she is survived by three grandchildren, Melanie McFarlin Ashcraft (Brett) of Richmond, TX; Sean Andrew McFarlin (Kora) of Suffolk, VA, and Julia Elizabeth McFarlin Boese of Colorado Springs, CO; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Nancy loved and was very proud of her family. Her main hobbies were crappie fishing and playing in bridge groups throughout her life. Nancy also enjoyed attending the Tulsa Symphony, Tulsa PAC, movies at Tulsa's Circle Cinema, and dining with friends and family.

A private family service and Inurnment will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Tulsa at a future date.
