Neal Alvin Curtis was born at home in Tulsa on April 12, 1930, to Nesbitt and Beulah Curtis, assisted by Dr Ungerfurth for a fee of $25. Neal passed from this earth on August 2, 2025, in the presence of his loving daughters, Caren and Stacey, at Porta Caeli, a beautiful hospice home.

Neal was born to Depression era parents and was the oldest of four children. He was not a person of means when he came into this world or while growing up. He said he achieved what he did through sheer determination, hard work, and the help of a lot of friends.

He graduated from Central High School in 1949 and from the University of Oklahoma in 1953. Neal owned and operated an acoustical and drywall company in Tulsa for 33 years.

The joy of Neal's life was his four children, their spouses, and his four grandchildren.

Neal retired in 1989 at the age of 59 and spent a year traveling with his wife, Ann Clammer Curtis, who was the great love of his life. They spent three months in Europe and then traveled extensively in the USA and old Mexico before building their second dream home on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, AR.

Neal is survived by his daughter, Caren Suzanne Curtis; his son, Carleton Neal Curtis; and Carleton's daughter, Carly Alexandria Curtis; his son, Steven Mark Curtis and Steven's wife, Beverly Curtis, and their son, Evan Neal Curtis, and his daughter, Stacey Elizabeth Curtis White, and her husband, Rick White, and their children, Anabel Elizabeth White and Davis Neal White.

Neal said he tried to live by the following quote. "Happiness is in doing, in accepting, meeting and conquering the challenges of life, and when possible, doing for others, not yourself."

There will be a private Celebration of Life for Neal on September 13th, according to Neal's wishes. He was the most wonderful father and grandfather, and we will all miss him with all our hearts until we meet again.
