Paula Reeves Obituary

REEVES -- Paula DuFour, 53, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2006. She was born in Elk City to Robert L. and Wanda DuFour. Paula was raised in Tulsa and graduated from Memorial High School in 1971. After attending Oklahoma State University, she married and moved to Amarillo, TX, where she worked as a Legal Secretary. In 1997, after learning she needed a heart transplant, due to a genetic ailment, she returned home to Tulsa. One year later, she received the gift of life through a heart transplant at St. Francis Hospital. In recent years, she worked for the Tulsa business, 742-DINE. Paula is survived by: her daughter, Julie Reeves of Austin, TX; her son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Nicole Reeves of Huntsville, AL; her granddaughter, Emma Grace Reeves, also of Huntsville; her sisters, Janice Barber and Sherrill Vaught of Tulsa; and her mother, Wanda DuFour of Tulsa. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 1, 2006 at Trinity Episcopal Church, located in downtown Tulsa at 6th Street and Detroit Ave. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Paula's name to the Clarehouse, the hospice service that took care of her in her final days, or the St. Francis Hospital Heart Transplant Support Group.

My sincere sympathy to Paula's family during this time of loss. I will always remember her as she was back in High School at Memorial...a friendly, free-spirit with a great zest for life.

I was so sorry to hear about Paula; we worked together for several years in Amarillo. Paula spoke often of her mom and sisters, and especially of Matt and Julie. She loved her family and loved life.

We are deeply saddened by Paula's passing. We hold fond memories of the "short" time Paula was with us in CICU. She was an inspiration to Tommy to get to 3 West first. I will never forget their dance at the transplant party. We keep you in our thoughts. Tom and Nanette Tucker

Even though we met briefly during an early morning biopsy session I was so impressed by her courage just by listening to her experiences.

Louise and I offer our condolences to Paula's family and dear ones.

May she rest in peace.
