Phillip Plunkett Obituary

PLUNKETT - Phillip, R., age 83, died on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the Muskogee VA Medical Center. Born to Alice (Phillips) and Dee Plunkett in Porum, OK on November 9, 1923, he graduated from high school in Coweta, OK. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in WWII as a C-47 radio operator in the assault on Normandy and allied drive to Berlin. Following the war Phillip married the late Lucille (Decker) Plunkett and settled in Tulsa where he worked as a letter carrier for 32 years. Following retirement he moved to Wagoner, OK. Phillip's lifelong passion was to be outdoors. When not on his mail route he could be found fly fishing at a local stream, squirrel hunting in the Verdigris River Bottoms, or quail hunting with his dog, Joe. Phillip is survived by: his son and daughter-in-law, Garry and Virginia Plunkett of Tiverton, RI; daughter, Mary Petty of Tulsa; former wife, Manuela Green of Columbus, OH; former stepdaughter and caregiver, Audra Bevenue of Wagoner; 5 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
