Phillips Sharon Obituary

Sharon, Phillips

Feb 5, 1942 - Dec 24, 2024

Sharon Brown Phillips, born February 5, 1942, in Reno, Nevada, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Sharon graduated from Ben Lomond High School in Ogden, Utah, in 1960. Her early mornings were often spent figure skating, a passion she pursued with dedication as her father, Gerald, dropped her off at the rink at 5:30 am every morning. This commitment led her to a professional career in figure skating, where she trained numerous students for competition in Sun Valley, Idaho. Later in life, Sharon enjoyed many rounds of golf at Little River Country Club in Arkansas with her husband Tex Phillips and cultivated a love for gardening through many horticulture classes. She moved back to Tulsa in 2015 where she reunited with cherished friends and many new friends at Asbury Church. She was also fortunate to have met wonderful neighbors who shared weekly card game that she talked about frequently.

Throughout her career, Sharon held several jobs but found particular joy working at Grey's Petroleum in DeQueen, Arkansas, and Mary Murray's Flowers in Tulsa. Her creativity and attention to detail shone through in all she did.

Sharon is survived by her son Stan McCabe; daughter-in-law Stacy Favell McCabe; grandchildren Mason and Lauren McCabe; niece Darcy Shefstall; and her dearest friend Susan Herron. She cherished these relationships deeply and brought warmth and kindness to those around her.

May Sharon's memory bring comfort to all who knew her and inspire others to pursue their passions with the same dedication she exemplified throughout her life.

Services will be held at Asbury Chapel at 1pm on Friday, January 10th.
