Sherry Rucker Obituary

Sherry Rucker

Jun 10, 1942 - Sep 11, 2025

Surrounded by her loving family, Sherry Allen Rucker passed peacefully in the early morning of September 11, 2025. She was born the first child of William and Floreine Allen on June 10, 1942, in Amarillo, Texas.

Sherry grew up in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, attending College High. She later attended the University of Oklahoma, graduating with a bachelor's degree in education. She left her teaching career when the love of her life, Dr. Ralph Weller Rucker II, convinced her to marry him. Together, they traveled far and wide, including Chicago, Houston, Seoul, Korea and California to name a few. Her passion for her family was an overwhelming theme in Sherry's life, as she was the matriarch and guiding light of her entire clan. Sherry and Ralph retired to Haskell, Oklahoma in 1991 where together they established The Rucker Ranch, a loving haven for their family. She spent her retirement years chasing adventures with Ralph and chasing children and grandchildren in their various endeavors.

Those who mourn her loss include her loving family; sister Bonnie Allen Williams and brother-in-law Harold Denis Williams of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister Patrice Allen Swanson of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; son Ralph Weller Rucker III and daughter-in-law Jennifer Rene' Rucker of Fairview, Texas; son William Allen Rucker and daughter-in-law Crystal Marie Rucker of Haskell, Oklahoma; daughter Robyn Elaine Rucker of Haskell, Oklahoma; son-in-law William Brian Arant and daughter Dr. Rebecca Rucker Arant of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sherry was the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren: William II, Callie, Ralph IV, Jackson, Trent, Broderick, Haylee, Skylar, Presley, Avery, Connor, Jessa, Boston and Cole.

Sherry was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Ralph Weller Rucker II, her father William Amos Allen and her mother Floreine Dietrich Allen. She is forever loved and admired by those of us lucky enough to have known her.
