Thomas Seay Obituary

Thomas Seay

Dec 28, 1934 - Sep 21, 2025

Thomas "Tom" Seay entered his heavenly home on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the age of 90, surrounded by the love of his family and the legacy of a life well-lived. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

A funeral service celebrating Tom's life will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, September 26, 2025, at the Jim Groesbeck Memorial Chapel at Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 12-8 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6-7 p.m.

Tom was born on December 28, 1934, in Vian, Oklahoma, to Francis I. Seay and Rhoda (Sutterfield) Seay. He grew up in Vian and graduated from Vian High School before making his way to Tulsa, where his life took a beautiful turn. While working in the warehouse at Goodner-Van, he met Barbara Allen Johnson. Their connection was instant and enduring. They were married on November 28, 1957, at Broadway Baptist Church in Sand Springs, and shared a loving marriage until Barbara's passing in 2012.

Tom built a career as a salesman with KP Restaurant Supply, where his charm and sincerity earned him lasting relationships with restaurant owners across the region. His children fondly remember being treated like royalty whenever they dined out-thanks to their dad's warm reputation and friendships in the industry.

After retiring, Tom continued serving others by driving a shuttle for the Westin Hotel and later, for over a decade, the Senior Citizens bus for the City of Sand Springs. He was known for his kindness, patience, and genuine care for the people he transported.

Music was Tom's heartbeat. As the frontman of Tommy Seay and the Country Showmen, he played rhythm guitar, sang lead vocals, and promoted the band with passion. His son Mark joined him on drums for a time, creating cherished memories. Tom began performing as a teenager and spent many nights lighting up venues like the Sapulpa VFW, where he played through packed houses-even once during a kitchen explosion. He also brought his music to Fairfax, Cushing, Copan, and Bristow. His happy place was always on stage, guitar in hand, sharing joy through song.

Tom was a devoted sports fan, cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals, OU, and OSU. He was laid-back, friendly, and deeply selfless. An introvert by nature, he found his voice in music and his purpose in caring for others. His work ethic was unwavering, and his love for family was the foundation of his life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara; his parents; and his brothers James, Jim, and Gary Seay.

Tom is survived by his sons, Mark Allen Seay of Tulsa and Robert "Bob" Thomas Seay of Sand Springs; his cherished granddaughter, Bethie Seay and her husband Kevin Polk of Tulsa; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bethie was the queen of his heart. Tom and Barbara helped raise her, and their bond was deep and enduring.

Tom Seay will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his music, and the quiet strength with which he loved and served those around him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him
