Timothy De Leo Obituary
Timothy De Leo passed away in May of 2023. Predeceased by his father, Lebro De Leo, and mother, Viola Franchi; he is survived by his wife of over 50 years Vickie, their two sons, Stephen and Paul, and granddaughter, Sophia. Tim is also survived by the remaining members of "Quattro Fratelli", his brothers, and best friends: William, Robert, and Jack. He is also survived by daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many other family and friends.
Tim was born in Philadelphia and while a young child, his parents moved the family to be raised in Ohio. While attending Stow High School, he was active in football, basketball, and wrestling. After graduating from Kent State University, he and Vickie moved to Houston, TX. This is where Tim started his illustrious life-long career in accounting with Arthur Young, and where Stephen and Paul were both born. The young family of four moved to Italy for a few years. While there, Tim became a partner in the Milan office. The De Leos later moved back to the United States and made Tulsa, OK home. This is where Tim and Vickie spent most of their years and where Tim became managing partner in the now Ernst & Young accounting firm. During his career, Tim managed many influential accounts including Wal-Mart and Phillips Petroleum Co. Well-respected in professional circles, Tim also gave back by dedicating much time to the American Heart Association; and over the years, he held several seats with the Junior Achievement Tulsa Chapter. In 1995, Tim was interviewed for The Tulsa World and was quoted as saying "I'm a bean counter." His colleagues and loved ones know he was so much more, including humble.
Throughout his life, Tim loved working around the house and could be found outside landscaping or working on classic cars. He especially enjoyed going to Stephen and Paul's high school sporting events, graduations, and watching them start their own careers. Already a world traveler during his 38-year career, after retirement, Tim continued leisure travels with Vickie, family and friends around the USA and Italy.
Tim was a loving and generous husband, father, and individual. He was a thoughtful leader and inspirational mentor to many in his professional and personal life alike. He truly loved his job but providing for his family his entire life was his true purpose and joy. Hard-working and motivated, Tim was always making and busily checking things off his famous to-do lists. We will keep his memory with us in all that we do, including keeping busy with our own to-do lists knowing this would continue to make him proud. Thank you for all that you have done for us. Bravo, Papa D. Ti vogliamo bene!
