Anita Goodwin Obituary

DEKALB, MISS. - Anita Aust Goodwin, age 78, passed away February 9, 2018, with her husband by her side at Hospice of West Alabama. She was born on March 1, 1939 in Panola to Margaret Aust Stennis and Marvin Aust. Anita graduated from Scooba High School. She married Donald G. Goodwin on September 1, 1957 and they raised their family in Louisville, Miss. before relocating to DeKalb, Miss. after retirement.
Anita was beautiful, funny, opinionated, and an incredible wife of sixty years. She was very passionate about her family, friends and loved nothing greater than time with her grandsons. The fabulous Anita was loved for her wit, humor, and warm hospitality. Her favorite pastimes were cooking, dancing, fishing, and playing the piano.
Anita was preceded in death by her son, Douglas H. Goodwin and stepfather, James H. Stennis.
She is survived by her husband, Don; daughters, Debbie Richardson and Beverly Goodwin; brother, Bubba Aust; four grandsons; Adam Richardson, Will and Jake Goodwin and Taylor Goodwin Silva; and one great-grandson, Mason Richardson.
A memorial service will be held at Memorial Garden Park in Starkville, Miss. on February 17, 2018 at 1 p.m. A celebration of life will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research, Hospital Shriner's Children's Hospital or any charity of your choice.
