James Warren Obituary

COTTONDALE James “Gary” Warren Sr., age 64, Of Cottondale, Ala. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 18, 2013. Services will be 11 a.m. on Monday Oct. 21, 2013 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ron Martin, Rev. Tony Ledbetter, and Rev. Chris Barnett officiating and Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday night from 6 to 8 p.m.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, James Wesley Warren; his mother, Drexal Pauline Warren Pate; sister, Paulette Warren; brother, Kenneth Wade Warren; and his step-father, Gene Pate.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Blaich Warren; his son, James Gary Warren, Jr.; and his brothers, Phillip Warren, Daryl Pate (Cindy), and Ronnie Pate.

Gary was a loving husband and father and a very godly man. He loved spending time with his family, friends and the family cat Mona Lisa. He was an avid drag racer and he loved serving the Lord at Cottondale Community Church. During his illness, Gary never lost faith in God and he took every opportunity that he could to share Christ with others. Every person that visited Gary in the hospital never left without Gary praying with them about their family and their salvation. He was a true demonstration of 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”.

Pallbearers will be Alan Blaich, Chris Blaich, Cary Skelton, Jason Faulkner, Craig Vail, Steve Farmer, Marvin McGee and B.R. Sellers.

Honorary pallbearers are the UAB Transplant Team, Spain-Wallace W Wing, UAB CICU, Holiday Beach Raceway, Cottondale Community Church, LifePointe Church of God, past and present employees of Sellers Trucking, Lake Wildwood Club and neighbors, James Kyzer and Danny Hubbard.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cottondale Community Church building fund.

Debbie I am a loss of words to let you know how I feel. Being in a similar situation I feel what you are going thru and my heart goes out to you. Derrill and I think so much of Gary and you and what you have been thru. Know one knows till they are faced with this what a person is going thru. You never give up on your Love one. He was you true Love and mate. You two shared a Love that you look for all you life and never find. That is so special. The picture of you two looking at each other shows how much you too Love each other. Debbie we are here for you if we can ever help please let us know. We Love you. Always in prayer.

Debbie,
My heart is saddened for you and your loss. I remember from our early years at Cottondale Church of God of Prophecy how much you prayed for Gary,
and how much you have always trusted the Lord with your life. All of your prayers may not have been answered but I can see that God did answer some really big ones for you. Stand strong in your faith and allow the love and support of friends and family to sustain during this difficult time. When you feel the most alone is when the Lord will be the closes to you.

Sincerely,
