Joe Mullenix

Gordo - Joe Clinton Mullenix, age 87, of Gordo, AL passed away May 18, 2021 at his residence. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Pat Powell officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will receive friends following the service at his home.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Fern Cork Mullenix; daughter, Tammy Jo Mullenix; sister, Mable Rich; brother, Herbert Davis Mullenix and his parents.

He is survived by his son, Jason D. Mullenix; three grandchildren, Colby Gaddy (Carrie), Cabel Davis Mullenix, Camilla Jo Mullenix and the mother of his grandchildren, Nikki Mullenix. He is also survived by his brother, Minton H. Mullenix (Dot) and his nieces and nephews.

Joe was born January 16, 1934 in Gordo, Alabama to the late Dock Davis and Hummie Hall Mullenix. His grandparents were Searce Beauregard and Martha Ellen Free Mullenix and Minton N. and Mattie Fulgham Hall. Joe was a member of Gordo First Baptist Church, a retired employee of Southern Natural Gas and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Honorary Pallbearers are Jason Mullenix, Cabel Mullenix, Colby Gaddy, Danny Duffy, Mitch Dyer, Dr. Scott Fulgham, Frank Elmore, Randolph Trull and members of the Gordo First Baptist Church. A special thanks to his caregiver, Brenda Hannah.
