Joseph Tant Obituary
He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph E. Tant, Jr; his father, Joseph G. Tant; his mother, Kathryn P. Mitchell; and his stepfather, Mark S. Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife, Molly Shirley Tant of Tuscaloosa; a daughter, Krissy Tant; two sons, Michael Adam Tant (Suzie) and James Andrew Tant; a sister, Cecelia Thompson (Mike); a stepsister, Phyllis Ryan; brothers, Robert Tant (Kathy), Jim Tant (Janis), David Tant, and John Tant (Susan); stepbrothers: Sonny Ryan (Brenda) and Ken Ryan (Cindy); his stepmother, Mae D. Tant; and grandchildren, Joshua Koster, Hunter Watkins, Olivia Watkins, and Alex Tant.
He was the owner of Tant Construction.
Pallbearers will be his brothers, Robert Tant, Jim Tant, David Tant, and John Tant; nephews, Chris Tant, Michael Tant, and David Tant; and Josh Jones.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church Building Fund, 733 James I Harrison Pkwy., Tuscaloosa, AL 35405.

Mr. Joe was a true legand in this town. I hate I never got to know him on a personal basis, but I feel like I know him becuase of all the great things I have heard. His tribute to the real estate growth in Tuscaloosa was amazing, along with his many accomplishments over the years would make any family proud to be apart of his journey. I consider myself so blessed to have known Mr. Tant. He built our home 10 years ago and I also got a chance to know him through working at the Bank of Tuscaloosa. He will be deeply missed. Joe was a kind hearted man. He and my husband worked on some jobs together and he also built our home.He would come driving up all the time just to check and make sure everything was going smooth.He took great pride in his home building. They were just together the other day, talking business and everything else. Joe will be missed by many. It is hard to think that last week you are spending a whole day with someone and then the next they are just gone. God Bless his family.
