IN MEMORY OF ADAM JOHN BAKER
“I’ll lend you for a little time a child of Mine,” He said.
“For you to love the while he lives and mourn for when he’s dead.
It may be six or seven years, or twenty two or three,
But will you, till I call him back,
Take care of him for Me?
He’ll bring his charms to gladden you,
And shall his stay be brief,
You’ll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return
But there are lessons taught down there
I want this child to learn.
I’ve looked the wide world over
In my search for teachers true
And from the throngs that crowd life’s lanes
I have selected you.
Now will you give him all your love,
Nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call to take him back again?
I fancied that I heard them say:
“Dear Lord, Thy will be done!
For all the joy thy child shall bring,
The risk of grief will run.
We’ll shelter him with tenderness, we’ll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we’ve known
Forever grateful stay;
But shall the angels call for him much sooner than we’ve planned
We’ll brave the bitter grief that comes
And try to understand”.

Sending thoughts and prayers to Laurie and Adams family. My partner and I had the opprotunity of taking care of Adam and we are forever blessed to have taken part in his life. Adam was very lucky to have such a wonderful, loving and supportive family. May you all find comfort and strength in all of the memories you have of adam.

It was my pleasure to take care of Adam, meet his family and friends. Your constant love and support and attention will be his legacy, he will be missed by all those that had the privlage to meet him. I can't image the pain of such a great loss, but the fact Adam knew you cared so much for him, sent him away to be with the angles with a smile on his face.

Dear Laurie and Adam's Family: I have fond memories of Adam as a teen ager I knew in high school, a friend of my son Tim. The man he became was consistent with who he was then; an outstanding and respectful young man who valued his friends and loved life. His loss leaves a void in many hearts.

Your family has been in my thoughts constantly since this nightmare happened! A tragic death of a loved one at a young age is so hard. Things will never be the same but it will get easier with time. Keep Adam alive with memories...no one can ever take your memories from you! May you continue to find that strength and courage that you have had since that horrible night. Adam was very lucky to have such a wonderful support group. Hugs to all!

Laurie & Rhonda and all, my prayers continue for you. I pray for continued strength and an enlighted heart and spirit. It amazes me how Adam's story had united so many people through thoughts and prayer. That could be part of his legacy. Rhonda, Dennis and Family, We have been following your tragic story since we first heard of the injury. Our prayers have included Adam and all family and friends involved. Rondha & family-
Laurie E, Pam, Sam you & I all ran around together in high school in Big Lake. We had lots of high school memories together especially at the Shank farm(you know what I mean). Then we graduated and all moved away. It was fun seeing you & all the girls again at our class reunion.
When this incident took place last spring, I had no idea this was your boy. I realized it when I saw the partial obit in last Sunday's paper and it directed me to his caring bridge site. I was so schocked and so very sad for you. What a horrible & sensless tragedy.My deepest sympathy goes out to you & your entire family.

I only spent a few moments with Adam and his Mom at Hospice at North Memorial Hospital. She was a true inspiration as a devoted Mom and is now celebrating her son's life. God bless you all.

I'm so very sorry for your loss!!
What an unbelievable tragedy. I cannot believe it has come to this. I have been praying and HOPING from the beginning that the LOVE that has been shown would've been enough for Adam to pull through.
Adam, this never should've happened to you. I wish I had known you. What an impact you have made on so many lives.
Laurie.... my heart breaks for you. I have no words that will make you feel better, please just know that I will think of you daily!
