Allen David BESTLER

1952 - 2023

November 12, 1952 – September 5, 2023 Allen grew up in South Saint Paul and attended South Saint Paul Schools. He received architectural drafting training from Dakota County Tech and Mankato State College. He enjoyed designing and building several homes. He worked and retired from Twin City News in Saint Paul, MN after thirty years of service. Allen enjoyed exploring the bike trails along the river in South Saint Paul and spending time with his family. He loved spending time with his dogs, Molly and Sadie, his devoted companions. He especially enjoyed working on his acreage in Northeast Iowa. Allen was a devoted husband and father and is survived by his wife Linda and sons Matthew, Kyle and Ryan; brothers and sisters Richard (Mary), Mark (Mimi), Pam (Jay) Ellefson, Larry, Dan, Donna (Mike) Hammersten, Steve (Erika), Beth (Michael) Steger, and John. He is also survived by his family by marriage, the Stegers, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his infant son Luke, father Aloysius Carl Bestler, and mother Helen (Kruchewski) Bestler. Services will be held at St. Marks Catholic Church in Edgewood, Iowa on October 7, 2023 at 10:00 am with burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Littleport, Iowa.
