Amelia Darlene "Amy" HODGES

1928 - 2022

November 29, 1928 – March 20, 2022 Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother Passed away peacefully early Sunday morning ushering in the first day of Spring, and the beautiful sunny day. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and William Dolieslager; daughter, Susan (Ervin Farinella); son, Robert (Christine). Amy is survived by her husband, Donald of 70 years of marriage; children, Michael (Dawn), James (Lisa Boog), Laurie (Dennis Breeden), John (Julie); daughter in-law, Chris; son in-law, Ervin and their families; brother, Glen Dolieslager and his extended family. Amy was surrounded by 16 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Amy's passions were many but focused on family and community. Some activities were Sunday School teacher at Messiah Lutheran Church, Scouting (both Boy and Girl) where she was a Den Mother, Webelo Woods trainer, Zero Hero (camping out in below zero weather) attaining Wood Badge and a Silver Beaver. Founding member and President of Mounds View Lionesses, awarded 'The Citizen of the Year' award in 2019 by the City of Mounds View for her decades of community service. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11 am with visitation starting at 10am at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2848 Co. Rd. H2, Mounds View, MN. Please send flowers to the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be collected for her favorite Scout Camp, Boot Lake Camp or to the local Cancer Society in honor of her daughter Susan whom we lost to breast cancer.
