I only got to meet Carl a few times when I would go to visit MaryJo. Carl's Son and daughter MaryJo were very devoted and lovingly cared for him for many many years. Anyone who came to visit the house, Carl would right away start joking and put a person feeling right at home. He treated you like he had known you for years. It put you right at ease. He never complained that he was very sick. He had undaunted humor and was very mischievousness which made him lots of fun. If I was on the phone with MaryJo he would chime in to say something teasingly to me during the conversation. I will never forget the misery he suffered with courage and dignity. When he comes to my mind in coming years I will briefly feel sadness. But alas Carl would not like but a moment of that sadness. He would prefer you to think and remember of him being a funny rascal. I choose to always replay the memory tapes of his funny, mischievous, rascally, comfortable nature. He will always have a sweet residence in my heart. I choose to think that he is in heaven right now spreading his rascally antics, joy and humor. He will forever continue to bless us all with his sweet memories.
