We grew up across the Street on Fairmount Avenue from the Cardozo Family. We had a wonderful neighborhood and I have the fondest memories of Chris and all of us as children and later as teenagers. Sorry to hear of his passing.

I am so sorry to hear that Chris has died. He helped us with our collection of Curtis Prints, and we also worked together on showing African Art in Aspen and on locating and donating materials to the Yale Art Gallery. It was sufficient incentive for me to try to come up with some crazy scheme if I could only have an opportunity to work with Chris. He was a wonderful person, a wonderful presence.

I only now found out about Christopher's passing and I am profoundly saddened. We connected first in Guatemala and he gifted me a treasured book on Edward Curtis. I will never forget his magical story of how he first acquired "film" for his Curtis prints. Christopher leaves a powerful and important legacy for generations and I think even millenniums to come. My heartfelt condolences to his mother, family and loved ones.

I am very sorry for your loss. My love for Edward Curtis led me to Mr. Cardozo and his wonderful art site. He will be greatly missed. A kind and generous spirit who had no problem talking with a southwestern cowgirl who loved his work and could not afford it! Thank you Chris for giving the Colorado taxgirl some options to own some wonderful books and photos. Your kindness will always be remembered.

My wife and I became good friends with Chris as a result of my passion for Curtis. He was uniquely the unchallenged authority. I will miss our weekly weekend calls prior to his illness . I still hear his voice.

I remember Chris and your family so fondly for when we lived on White Bear Lake together in the 1960's and when we skied at Park City. Think of you often and hope you are well. Love, Jean Dunnette Royer

My heart breaks over the loss of Chris. He found joy in unexpected places, shared generously, followed his curiosity, and created beauty for us all to share. My heart goes out to other friends and his family. We have lost a good soul. May you and Edward S share time together in the next part of you heart´s journey. Miss you deeply - Eric

Our condolences go out to the Cardozo family. Chris' knowledge and passion for my great-grandfather has been a shinning light for so many years. He's brought compassion and understanding to the Native American community. He is missed... Too soon, godspeed.

Chris´s book, Sacred Legacy, introduced me to him as an adult. I knew him a bit as a child through the McGowan/Melady family ties.
I admired him and and am saddened by his passing. He gave us all so very much.
My tender sympathy and to his beloveds.
