Many circumstances have changed (as they always do) in the twelve years since Darrel’s passing. He was a good workmate, a terrific storyteller, and Darrel was my friend. He is missed.

Dear Darrell,

We worked together for years and I always enjoyed your companionship, and especially, the many stories made so colorful and real by you.

I saw in you the French-Canadian explorers of old...you will be missed.
