I am so sorry for your loss. Dave was a very nice guy. I knew him in High school. I wasn't good friends with him, but I was a cheerleader for soccer which is how I knew him. He was always very nice to me. He always said hi and thanked me for everything. Again I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Dave's family and friends. I met Dave at the Battle Creek dog park and only talked with him a handful of times, usually while watching Mac teach my dog to be extra submissive. I will continue to keep you in my prayers during this time of mourning. Please let me know if any help is needed with Mac.

I am so sad to hear of your families loss. I work at Oakie's and I knew who Dave was , but I did not know him very well. He was a very nice young man and my heart goes out to all of his young friends. My 17 year old daughter died unexpectedly in February 2007 so as a mother I understand all to well the deep sense of loss that you are all feeling. Please have faith that things will get better in time and eventually your wonderful memories of Dave will help to bring you peace. Seek as much support as you can from your family and friends, or perhaps it would help to join one of the many great support groups that are out there. My daughter is buried by Dave at the cemetery and I say a prayer for your family each day that I go out there.

To Daves Family,

I am very sorry for your loss. It was a tragedy for him to leave us so early in life. He was a great and very kind person in life. I barely knew him while we were in school together, but he was alway kind to everyone he came across. I am grateful for that and again sorry for his loss.

I am still in disbelief of what happened to Dave. I am very sorry for the family's loss. Dave was such a great guy. He had such a positive spirit for life. This was just too soon for someone with Dave's personality and ambitions. I don't know Leah but I wish her all the strength and love she can get. Dave thanks for the memories!

Leah,Dennis,Liz,Danny and Nelly,

You all know how much Dabes made an impact on this world. He was like a brother to me and I know he would have done anything to keep a smile on my face. I am so sorry that you, as a family, have to lose such a special person. I know that he loved his family dearly and they always came first before anything else. 'D', Dave was lucky to have such an awesome brother like you. Leah, know that Joe and I are here for you and that we love you with all our heart. I am here for all of you during this very hard time and feel blessed to have you all in my life. I love you guys all very much.

To Dabes:

I could type for days expressing how much you mean to me. I'll start by thanking you for being such a good friend to me and Joe. You were Joe's partner in crime, but at the same time kept each other on the right track. Thank you all of the wonderful memories, everything from high school, to just the other weekend. Thank you for teaching me how to wakeboard, and all of your words of encouragment when I wanted to chicken out. (You are welcome for me introducing you to snowboarding!!!!! hahahaha) Thanks for all of the laughs and smiles that will forever be in my heart and mind. I will miss you more than words can even describe. I will be sad without you here on earth, but comforted knowing that we will meet again...I Love you.

Love,
Tara

Danny, Nellie, Dennis, Leah, family & friends -

Forever are we grateful that we knew Dave. He was always so happy and welcoming. We did not know Dave all that well, but what we did know about him was that he was a great guy who opened his heart to all. Kevin has very fond memories of playing pool, and swimming at his parents house with Dave and Matt. Our world will be a much sadder world without him, but we know that he is watching over all of us and smiling down.

You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dave well what can I say other then funny, friendly, amazing, kind, and gifted. I haven't seen him for a few years but the thought of losing you still brings a tear to my eye. I don't understand why it had to be you so early before your time. I will remember all the bus rides and baseball, fastpitch and basketball games in middle school! Those memories will live within me forever.
God bless your family and friends. Your life will be celebrated for many years.

To Those Who Loved Him:

I watched the news and heard about what happend to the men trapped underground. I immediately started praying for them, that they would be in God's hands! I was hopeful that there would be a rescue of the two men, sadly it was not to be! I knew then that these two men must have been very special people! It always seems God picks those extraordinary people to join the angels and saints in heaven! I can tell you without knowing Dave and his coworker, that they were outstanding people because they were chosen to go home early to heaven, to serve God! What an awesome opportunity to work for the Creator himself!

You are all blessed to have known him and had the special times you did share with this Angel of God! Please find Peace and Love knowing he is working for all of us with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! May his Eternal Soul rest in peace and may perpetual life shine upon him!

God Bless You All!

Proceed forward with your lives here on earth, and celebrate his rebirth to Eternal Life!

To the Yasis and Lawrence families,

My heart goes out to you at this most difficult time. I met Dave on several occassions (my daughter went to school with him and knew him well). The close-knit group of friends he has is immense and Dave will always be with them.
Leah, you are in my thoughts and prayers. May the strength of faith, family and friends help you through this and may you all find peace in knowing Dave is in the presence of our Lord.

With deepest sympathy,

"I'll send you for a little time
A child of mine, He said,
For you to love the while he lives
And mourn for when he's dead.

It may be forty or fifty years,
Or even two or three
But will you, till I call him back,
Take care of him, for me?

He'll bring his charms to gladden you,
And should his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories
As solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay,
Since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there
I want this child to learn.

I've looked this wide world over
In my search for teachers true.
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes
I have selected you.

Now, will you give him all your love,
Nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call
To take him back again."

I fancied that I heard him say,
'Dear Lord thy will be done.'
For all the joy thy child shall bring,
The risk of grief we'll run.

We'll shelter him with tenderness,
We'll love him while we may
And for the happiness we've known,
Forever grateful stay.

But should the angels call for him
Much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
And try to understand."

I met Dave at 700am from my 2nd floor bedroom window of my house in 2004. He was part of a framing crew that just started building a house next door. I opened my bedroom window and yelled at him to turn the Country Music off. To this day I don't know if he liked Country or if it was the framing crew. It needed to be Rock 'n Roll. Dave was true hearted and you don't find that much. About 8 months later, I needed help moving out **now** and after working a full hot day, it was not a problem to help me move out. I last saw him at Afton Alps Ski shop in March of this year. I was in a jam again, and my son needed his racing ski's fixed NOW for a race. Once again, Dave was true and got them done so my son could race. Great guy that will be truely missed.

Oh my god...my heart breaks for your entire family. When I heard David Yasis was the name of the other victim related to last week's heavy rains in St. Paul, I hoped and prayed that it was not your Dave. I had no access at 10:00 last night to the internet to find out who the family of David was and when I checked it out this morning on line, I was in such disbelief.
You have raised such remarkable young men. I remember being around your family, Dennis and David were the best mannered young men I had ever met. They were so polite and respectful. I sympathize for your great loss. I cannot imagine how you are feeling at this time, but I am happy that they were able to find Dave so you would have some closure. I am with you in thought and prayer at this hard time.
I have been through a tough time like this with my sister, who's son passed away 1 1/2 years ago, at the age of 25. She and her family are continuing to deal with their great loss.
Please contact me at anytime to talk. I think about you often, Nellie! Even though I have not seen most of the old gang in almost 5 years, I think about you often.

David had one of the best big brothers to look up to. Dennis, I remember Dave being just like you. So sweet and funny. I cant remember a time Dave didnt have a smile on his face. Be proud of being such a great big brother! Remember although times are hard and painful, he is right beside you holding your hand.

I send my prayers, light and love to you Dennis, liz and family.
