I am so sorry for your loss. Dave was a very nice guy. I knew him in High school. I wasn't good friends with him, but I was a cheerleader for soccer which is how I knew him. He was always very nice to me. He always said hi and thanked me for everything. Again I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.

To Dave's family, I am so very sorry for your loss! They always say that the good die young...and I have come to beleave this saying. There are not many people out there as genuinely nice and careing as dave. To see such a great person go is devistating. My thoughts are with all of you! My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Dave's family and friends. I met Dave at the Battle Creek dog park and only talked with him a handful of times, usually while watching Mac teach my dog to be extra submissive. Dave and my son Chad were very good friends, Dave would always take the time to say Hi whenever he was at the house, a wonderful young man, With his big smile and bright eyes That I am sure will be missed by many. I Just cant imagine your pain.

I am so sad to hear of your families loss. I work at Oakie's and I knew who Dave was , but I did not know him very well. He was a very nice young man and my heart goes out to all of his young friends. My 17 year old daughter died unexpectedly in February 2007 so as a mother I understand all to well the deep sense of loss that you are all feeling. Please have faith that things will get better in time and eventually your wonderful memories of Dave will help to bring you peace. Seek as much support as you can from your family and friends, or perhaps it would help to join one of the many great support groups that are out there. My daughter is buried by Dave at the cemetery and I say a prayer for your family each day that I go out there.

Danny, Nellie, Dennis, Leah, family & friends -
Forever are we grateful that we knew Dave. He was always so happy and welcoming. We did not know Dave all that well, but what we did know about him was that he was a great guy who opened his heart to all. Kevin has very fond memories of playing pool, and swimming at his parents house with Dave and Matt. Our world will be a much sadder world without him, but we know that he is watching over all of us and smiling down.

Dave was definitely one of a kind. There was never anything negative anyone could say about him. He had such a positive outlook on life and made the best of every situation. Dave well what can I say other then funny, friendly, amazing, kind, and gifted. I haven't seen him for a few years but the thought of losing you still brings a tear to my eye. I don't understand why it had to be you so early before your time. I will remember all the bus rides and baseball, fastpitch and basketball games in middle school! Those memories will live within me forever.

To Those Who Loved Him:
I watched the news and heard about what happend to the men trapped underground. I immediately started praying for them, that they would be in God's hands! I was hopeful that there would be a rescue of the two men, sadly it was not to be! I knew then that these two men must have been very special people! It always seems God picks those extraordinary people to join the angels and saints in heaven! I can tell you without knowing Dave and his coworker, that they were outstanding people because they were chosen to go home early to heaven, to serve God! What an awesome opportunity to work for the Creator himself!
You are all blessed to have known him and had the special times you did share with this Angel of God! Please find Peace and Love knowing he is working for all of us with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! May his Eternal Soul rest in peace and may perpetual life shine upon him!

I met Dave at 700am from my 2nd floor bedroom window of my house in 2004. He was part of a framing crew that just started building a house next door. I opened my bedroom window and yelled at him to turn the Country Music off. To this day I don't know if he liked Country or if it was the framing crew. It needed to be Rock 'n Roll. Dave was true hearted and you don't find that much. About 8 months later, I needed help moving out **now** and after working a full hot day, it was not a problem to help me move out. I last saw him at Afton Alps Ski shop in March of this year. I was in a jam again, and my son needed his racing ski's fixed NOW for a race. Once again, Dave was true and got them done so my son could race. Great guy that will be truely missed.

Oh my god...my heart breaks for your entire family. When I heard David Yasis was the name of the other victim related to last week's heavy rains in St. Paul, I hoped and prayed that it was not your Dave. I had no access at 10:00 last night to the internet to find out who the family of David was and when I checked it out this morning on line, I was in such disbelief.
You have raised such remarkable young men. I remember being around your family, Dennis and David were the best mannered young men I had ever met. They were so polite and respectful. I sympathize for your great loss. I cannot imagine how you are feeling at this time, but I am happy that they were able to find Dave so you would have some closure. I am with you in thought and prayer at this hard time.
I have been through a tough time like this with my sister, who's son passed away 1 1/2 years ago, at the age of 25. She and her family are continuing to deal with their great loss.

David had one of the best big brothers to look up to. Dennis, I remember Dave being just like you. So sweet and funny. I cant remember a time Dave didnt have a smile on his face. Be proud of being such a great big brother! Remember although times are hard and painful, he is right beside you holding your hand.

I was so sad when I heard the news about Dave, but this loss is definitely heaven's gain. Dave was such a great guy and he will be truly missed. All my thoughts and prayers are with the family and Leah. I am so sorry.
