David GOLDBERG Obituary

Age 47, CEO of Survey Monkey Passed away suddenly on May 1st, 2015. Loved by his wife Sheryl Sandberg, his two children, his mother Paula Goldberg, his brother and best friend Robert Goldberg, and his sister-in-law Leslye Goldberg. David was preceded in death by his father Mel Goldberg. Other members of the family who cared deeply for David include his Aunt Sandy and Uncle Mort Greenberg, and his cousins Mark Greenberg, Craig Greenberg, Nancy Lehrman and Claudia Hexter. David grew up in Minneapolis and attended Burroughs School and Blake. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard University. After graduation he joined Bain & Company then later worked at Capitol Records. In 1993, he and his good friend from high school Bob Roback started Launch Media, a digital music company. David was an entrepreneur for several innovative, web-based companies and was a respected and beloved leader in Silicon Valley. He cared passionately about people and ideas. His ability to relate to so many individuals, to be a mentor to hundreds, and to help empower so many women and men was outstanding. He was kind and compassionate, and a special friend to many. He was an extraordinary man who touched the lives of people from all walks of life. David loved music, the Vikings, and his family and friends. David was humble and would have been surprised by the outpouring of love and the 1700 people at his funeral. The family asks that donations be sent to Pacer Centers' David B. Goldberg Endowment Fund, 8161 Normandale Boulevard, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55437(952-838-9000, www.pacer.org). If you have stories to share, please post them to Facebook. www.hodroffepstein.com
