David C. SANFT

1944 - 2021

went home to be with our Lord on August 3, 2021 at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, Florida.  He was born to Harry and Gladys (Magistad) Sanft on December 24, 1944 in St. Paul, MN. He graduated from Monroe High School and Augsburg College.  Dave retired after a long career at West Publishing in 2000 and enjoyed the past 20 years playing golf until illness confined him to a more sedentary life the last couple of years. Dave is survived by his wife, Sue; children Dave Jr. (Shannon), Ken (Arlene), Derek (Amanda) and Erin (Keith) Martin; grandchildren Cassondra, Allison, Luke, Liliana, Jo, Nathon; and great-granddaughter, Reese; as well as siblings Shirley Schorey, Jerry (Marilyn) Sanft and Judy (Carl) Weber; siblings-in-law Steve (Barb) Camp and Cindy (Bill) Swisher; numerous extended family and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Gladys, his in-laws, Ray and Gladys Camp; his brother Bob; sister-in-law Audrey; brothers-in-law, Vic Schorey and Herb Camp; and grandson, David Medina Sanft. Dave will be remembered for his quick wit and jokes for every occasion. He loved his family, his church, golf, tennis, reading, and his dogs Jezy and Mabel. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 2475 17th Ave. E., North St. Paul, MN 55109.  There will be a visitation at the church from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an organization of the donor's choice.
