I did not know him as well as some others knew him. What I did know was his spirit and how he was filled with the Holy spirit. He was delightful to be around. His light filled up the room.He was my favorite pastor at St.James church.I know this for sure,He lived his faith in Christ everyday, every where he went.I know I will see him again. When I think of him,it puts a smile on my face for sure.He is still loved by so many.I am blessed to have been able to know him! He will never be forgotten

In virtue of his loving deeds and "Spirited" preaching, Fr. Denny's evangelization pervades our archdiocese and the mission in Venezuela still. Praise God!

Mr. Denny Dempsey was my 8th grade teacher in Hastings and had a HUGE impact on my life then and throughout the years ... always compassionate, always a great listener, always coming from a place of love and guided by the Holy Spirit, always inspiring but never shied away from offering a reality check. Answering God´s call was a blessing for us all ~ shining brightly and touching lives wherever he went.
Sending prayers, angels, love and Light to his family and all ... breathing w/ you

Father Dempsey was our pastor at St. James Church for 5 years. He was a wonderful, outgoing priest, who gave his all to the parish. My condolences to his family.

Fr. Denny's presence in the lives of our 6 teenaged sons when he was at St. Pius X is so appreciated. He took them and many teenagers on biking and canoe trips while praying with them and exposing them to Jesus in their lives. He cajoled them into creating a huge snow-sculpture in the church parking lot which was entered into the Winter Carnival Contest. He taught them intellectually challenging games and played Atari games in our den. What a blessing!
