Diane ROTH Obituary

Our beloved mom died peacefully on March 16, 2022 after a long and abundant life. Diane was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to Walter and Ruth Kueffner. She grew up with her sister Alice, spending summers at White Bear Lake. She was proud to be a third generation Visitation Convent graduate and was thrilled to pass along that tradition to her daughters and granddaughter. She attended the University of Minnesota, and taught school for a year before marrying her neighborhood sweetheart Hart N. Cardozo. They raised five children in St. Paul and White Bear Lake MN. Diane's life was full - family, faith, great friends, tennis, sailing, golf, bridge, gardening, travel, dogs and horses, and parties…lots and lots of parties. Diane was beautiful, gracious, welcoming and positive. She surrounded herself with vibrant colors - blues, greens, yellows, reds - her clothing and upholstery were as vivacious as she was. She embraced life with fun and creativity. Even at the very end of her life, she remained curious about others, delighted by a new sweater, her weekly manicure, and calls and visits from her large and loving family. Diane outlived four husbands, a testimony less to her longevity than to her personality and beauty. In addition to Hart, Diane was married to Dick Whitten, Ned Weinfurtner, and Paul Roth. Besides her home in White Bear Lake MN, Diane spent summers at Gull Lake and nearly 60 winters in Naples Florida. Preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ruth Kueffner, sister Alice Hilger, husbands Hart Cardozo, Richard Whitten, Ned Weinfurtner, Paul Roth, and grandson Andrew Hart Brown. She is survived by her five children: Sally and Chris Brown, Hart and Brenda Cardozo, Michael Cardozo, Kate and Doug Faltesek, and Caroline Cardozo; nineteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and eleven step-children. We are grateful to her kind and dedicated helpers, particularly Regina McCullough, the staff at Glenview, and Avow Hospice. Mom was supportive of us throughout her life, and we cherish our memories. Gifts in Diane's memory may be directed to the Diane Kueffner Roth Scholarship fund at Visitation School. Memorial gifts can be sent to Visitation School, 2455 Visitation Drive, Mendota Heights, MN 55120. Gifts also may be made online at https://www.visitation.net/support-vis/make-a-gift. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 3rd at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Burial, 4741 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake. Visitation 5:30-7:00pm on Monday, May 2nd at Mueller Memorial, 4738 Bald Eagle Ave. and also one hour prior to Mass at church. Reception at the White Bear Yacht Club and burial at Resurrection Cemetery to follow Mass.
