Not sure what to say?

Dear Shelly, Steen, and Sandy, I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I am sure you will all remember as Marie, even though my first name is Jane. Your Mom & Dad decided it was better they call me by my middle name as so customer's wouldn't confuse me with your Mom when I worked for them at the store. This was my first job, and it was the summer just before my senior year. I have so many fond memories of all of you. I think of you all often, and can still remember the good old days of working with your Dad. My deepest sympathy to you all. God bless you. Jane (Marie) Taylor

Dear Sandy, Shelly & Steen,
Memories last more than a lifetime. Growing up next door, I can still hear him singing as he worked in the yard. I have many fond memories of playing with Sandy at the carpet store. We had fun for hours on end running across the rolls of carpet. It was a rolling land of color and wonderment!

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I remember once when we were kids most of the neighborhood had been playing hard all day in our garage. Don came over to get you guys for supper and was appalled at the mess we had made. He stood tall in the middle of that pack of baby boomers shouting clean-up orders like a drill sergeant. To this day, any time I have to clean my garage I remember Don's words: “if in doubt, throw it out!”

For Don's loved ones: I have fond memories of Jane and Don, sad ones when Jane died. Don was a wonderful member of Holy Apostles' Church and we have missed his presence there because of his failing health. He was always fun, and warm and friendly to all.You are in my prayers.

Sandy Seestedt was one of my closest friends starting in jr. high. I have many fond memories of Don during that time period. Don would let us know when we were on the phone too long by picking up the reciever and singing "Good Night Irene" until we hung up.

I am sorry for your loss and wish you comfort and peace during this difficult time.

God Bless,

It is strange but I have been thinking of Don lately. I was wondering how he was or even if he was still alive. I wish now I had followed up on it and maybe even talked to him if possible. I met him when I had a carpet business years ago and he mentored me. When I was over my head I would call him and he would so generously give me advice. We had a great friendship on the phone and I really grew to love him. He was a great man and we bonded totally. He was such an encourager and was so kind to me. I am sure you are proud of his good heart and have many wonderful memories as I do with a few laughs when times were tough. I pray that God would give you peace at this sad time. No matter how many years a person has here on this earth it is hard to let them go. I sure wish I had called him.. May God richly bless you all.
