Donald Wujcik Obituary

Wujcik, Donald J. - Loving Dad, Grandpa & Uncle 1925-2002 Died Nov. 27, 2002 at his residence surrounded by his family. Born June 5, 1925 to Stanley & Josephine (Ciasto) Wujcik, served in the US Navy during WWII, married Edna Jylha in 1949, a graduate of the University of MN, worked for State of MN retiring in 1985 as Vice Chancellor of the Community College System of MN. After retiring, Donald became involved in many community organizations including: The Friends of the Forest Lake Library, Washington County Library Board & The Clear Lake Association. Preceded in death by his wife, Edna Virginia; 2 sisters, Loretta Raycraft & Marie T. Wujcik; & 2 brothers, Stanley Wujcik, Jr. & Henry C. Wujcik. Survived by his children, Becky Wujcik, Suzanne (Charles) Nichols & William Wujcik; 2 grandchildren, Andrea & Andrew Nichols; brother-in-law, William Jylha; aunt, Michelina 'Minnie' Erkkila; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services Wed. 10:30AM at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 1250 S. Shore Dr., Forest Lake, MN. Visitation Tues. 5-8PM at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 N. Shore Dr., Forest Lake with American Legion service at 6:45PM followed by a prayer service at 7PM. Burial in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to donor's choice or Washington County Libraries. Mattson Funeral Home 651-464-3556.

Don was a wonderful friend and neighbor, and we will miss the sight of him hustling down the road with a menagerie of animals in tow....our sympathies to the Wujcik family in the loss of this wonderful, gentle man.
