It is heart-warming to know that Mrs. Aiple has bequeathed to future generations a portion of the St. Croix Valley for their enjoyment. This requires a truly generous heart and a personal appreciation of the area.

Thank you to Mrs. Aiple for her foresight and generosity in working with the County and City to preserve her property on the river as open space. Generations of bike riders and swimmers will toast her determination to see her land become a park instead of another row of townhouses. It is a great gift to all of us from a lovely woman with a passion for the great St. Croix River.

Thank you for placing a picture of your Mom online. It allowed me to walk back in time and remember the wonderful wonderful McKinnon family I knew in the Thirties and
Forties. Your mother and I were in the same grade for a while at Ames school in Hazel Park. Actually we lived across the street from each other for several years on
Stillwater Ave. Maybe the name hadn't changed yet and it was still Kerwin. Marian was about 8. Your Grandma Gertrude was one of my mother's most treasured friends for years. They played cards together regularly and shared women's secrets like good friends do. I knew your
Grandpa George so well too. And Kay was
always such a fun and gracious person.
The McKinnon family, all of them, were such wonderful people that I love them still. I believe I contacted Kay when Gordy died. I would have known your mother anywhere and I've enjoyed sitting and talking to her picture on my computer. She certainly grew up to be a lovely woman! I'm so grateful to be able to stroll down "memory lane" and feel
blessed by all of you as I am 91 as well; have lived in McLean, Va. going on 50 years; but part of me will always be a Hazel Park....St. Paul....Minnsota devotee because of the marvelous people of that area. I thank God for your mom, your aunts, and your grandparents! Elaine may be gone from your sight, but you'll treasure her all your life.

Very sorry to hear the sad news today of your loss! Rebecca and Maddie

Oh my goodness...Elayne, please introduce yourself to my dad. You two will be friends I know. He is a great person like you. I want you to know the only reason I would miss your funeral, is for his. I have been saying extra prayers for you & your family. We will have to head to Turtle Lake and talk about our wonderful parents very soon. Thank you for everything...for being my friend, for your generosity, raising a beautiful family and leaving a legacy. XOXO - Karin
