Dr. Riegel, along with Dr. Belshe saved my grandfather's life by using a makeshift defibrillator out of a lamp cord and two surgical needles. He lived another 30+ years. My thanks are a little late, but certainly heartfelt, as I never would have known him otherwise.

Dr Fred was superb to work with. Always kind to his patients, never complaining when called in. Even after he retired, he came back frequently to visit with staff and work in the garden.
The atrium will forever be a tribute to his gardening skills.

Our GREAT memory of Dr. Fred (To our son) Lance, this is my cousin * the Dr. who delivered you. Well, he * and I * pretty
much just watched, and caught up on family, while your mother did the
delivering. I don't suppose you remember him, but he didn't drop you * and that
first lateral to the nurse was right on, so you might want to take a moment. God Bless!!

Fred was my best friend during my adult years. He and I shared the exciting, but challenging Medical School experience. He was one of the last of the REAL docs, totally dedicated to the welfare of his patients and dependably available to them. I shall miss him keenly.

My condolences to Fred's family and loved ones. His patient's were indeed fortunate to have shared so many years and such wonderful care.
I worked with him in the O.R. for some timeand had been his patient for many years. He brought my three babies into the world and called each of them a miracle. Fred was more than an inspiration to those of us who chose him as a friend and a family physician. He will never be forgotten. His spirit is of the kind that goes on and on. We loved him dearly.
