Frederick "Budde" STENGER

1937 - 2024

Age 86, of Oak Park Heights Passed away on January 10, 2024 He was born on November 27, 1937. Fred was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a giant of a man, always wearing a smile and loved hugs from everyone. Fred was outgoing, fun-loving, and a pleasure to be around. He had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and was a teacher to all. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Annette (Nalipinski); and together they raised 6 children: Theresa (David) Schreiner, Barbara (Mark) Merk, Ken (Lori Krause), Paula (Greg) Jackson, Lawrence (Beverly), and Donna (Jeff) Berquam. His family was the cornerstone of his life and he leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his 6 children, 23 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren, extended family members and close friends who will miss him dearly. He attended Shakopee High School and later furthered his education at St. Thomas University. Fred worked and retired from the United States Post Office, where he dedicated many years of service. Fred enjoyed singing, playing cards, following MN sports, camping, participating in his Barber Shop quartet and chorus, playing horseshoes, and his love for desserts. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 19, at 11 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 423 5th St. S., Stillwater, MN. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the service in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, MN Stroke Association, or Catholic Charities in memory of Frederick Stenger. Fred will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
