I hardly knew Bob in high school. We shared almost no classes except gym, where he, I, and Karl Heckert vied for least inclined and least talented.

The Internet brought us back into contact, and I learned subsequently what a generous man he was (he did a lot to bring classmates back into contact with each other), how wide his interests were (genealogy was just one of them), and what a resolute character he had.

The last is worthy of special note. A few years ago, Bob had a broken hip. More often than not, older people with a broken hip die within about six months. Bob squared his shoulders, recovered, and kept going. Even in the face of his cancer, Bob squared his shoulders and kept going. He faced the end with courage, even confidence. When our times come, may each of us do as well.

My sincere condolences to the Viguers family. Bob was a kind and generous man and helped me find the locations of burial sites of members of my family tree. He was always ready to help. May you Rest In Peace dear friend and brother. I will miss and never forget you.

I'm saddened to see that Bob has passed away. I knew Bob from the post office. He would also come in and let me know when the retirement breakfast was. I always enjoyed talking to him. My condolences to the family.

I worked with Bob in accounting in the old building at the USPS on Market St back in the 80's. He was a nice fellow and after I retired I would see him at the Postal Employees retirement breakfasts. Bob and Helen was nice enough to drive down to my house and give my baby a gift after he was born 1985. Condolences to his family.

I was sorry to hear about Bobs passing. I first met Mr V. when I wrote an article about him and his iron trivet collection several years ago.Turns out he also has knowledge about stamp collecting as well.Mr V was always very pleasant and a great help with sorting and cataloging stamps. We will miss him dearly.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Although I did not know Mr. Viguers, I am deeply grateful for all his work in photographing gravestones in area cemeteries. His contributions to genealogical research are immense. Please accept my sympathies.
