Our sympathy to the Shoop family. Jim and I were friends when we were little boys. We went to St.Columba and played baseball together. My brother Paul was a good friend of Waynes. Paul died in 1995.
I know you have pleasant memories of your Mom. I only knew her for a short time but I know she was a good person and a good mother.

I was privileged to be at her side when mother drew her last breath. Labored though it was, there was a sense of peace and serenity as well at that moment. Like all of us, Mom lived through some times of anxiety and sorrow--the Great Depression when she and Dad almost lost their home; watching Wayne go off to a world war from which he might not return; suffering helplessly as Dad struggled through 20 years of deep depression. But I remember most the many, many times of great joy and happiness. She was the quintessential wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker; she reveled in the joy of her children and grandchildren, proud of our accomplishments, sympthetic to our failures. The time I will remember most was when, at the age of 90, she joined us on a family trip to Hawaii. I never saw her happier or more pleased and contented. She will be in my heart till the end of my days. So long, "Ma" and Godspeed.

Wendy and Family,
Wendy, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family in the loss of your Grandmother. It is hard to lose someone you are close to, but you have to remember the good times that you had with Grandma and hopefully this will lessen the heartache.
I'll keep you and your family in my prayers. God Bless!

A GREAT Mother and Mother-In-Law.
Having lost my mother in 1989, Mom (Grace)became the mother in our lives. Both mothers loved family outings and had such good times together. Mom was a great cook and loved life! She touched everyone that knew her and we all loved her, including those that took care of her. She got wonderful care at both nursing homes and for that we are very grateful. We will always love you "Momma".

I'll never forget the ice cream sandwiches that were my special treat when I spent my special weeks with Grandma in the summer when I was a boy. She didn't care that I seemed to get Yahtzees whenever she left the room, and willingly let me retrace my Dad's footsteps by throwing a ball against the side of her house. Years later, I was thrilled to watch her eyes light up at the sight of my daughter bouncing in her baby chair in the doorway to Grandma's bedroom. Grandma, we'll miss your warm heart, your marvelous sense of humor, and your fabulous apple pie--but your memory will be with us always.

I'm remembering all the good times together, and wishing we could go on one last picnic this weekend. You were the BEST mother-in-law, and the best cook ever. What a challenge to try to live up to what your son was used to eating when I married him! Rest in peace. Love, Pris

I will never forget going to Great Grandma Shoop's in the summer time. I was always anxious to sleep in one of the twin beds with the pretty "popcorn" bedspreads. I won't forget walking to the store for a bubble gum ice cream cone or playing Yahtzee, or eating home made soup, or visiting Mrs. Freis. I hold these memories close to my heart. I love you and am going to miss you Grandma!

I loved Grandma's humor and her acceptance of everyone into 'her family'. She adored little kids. Jacob and Kayla referred to her as thier Grandma with the white hair. I will miss her wit. Love you Grandma. Don

Since the day I was born my Grandma was always there for me. I have many wonderful memories that will stay with me always. It is so hard to say "good by". She was the "rock" of our family and will be missed by all who knew her.
