My condolences. So sad. Inquiring upon this case online I received a death notice and ancestory information. (Surprising to me received this notice as i never entered or authorized my genetic information... My grandmother was also Erickson... Yes we are related. My apologies just discovered this notice...been discovered would had been at that funeral. Just know they are always with us. Blessings to you and yours. Wish i could have met Heidi. Ronny M.

I was so saddened when I learned of the loss of your beloved Heidi. I am sorry for the many dreams, hugs, and "yet-to-comes" that your family and her many friends still planned to share with her...
I was at Heidi's Celebration of Life and truly enjoyed learning what an incredible young woman she was ~ so very gifted in so many ways, and so willing to give to so many others. What a blessing your Heidi has been!
I pray your memories and her beautiful Spirit and smile help bring a glimmer of light to your darkest of days. May you find rest and peace in Jesus' embrace as Heidi dances those streets of gold with her Savior. You will hug Heidi again!

My wife had a change to spend time with Heidi a few years back, and I had the pleasure and blessing of spending a few days with Nick, back in my first travel to the US, Those were amazing times, we hold the Firkus' very close to our hearts and I particularly consider Nick an amazing man of God and a very good friend whom I love despite the distance, there are just no words to express the sadness that overwhelmed us when we found about the news, yet we know that Heidi is now waiting for us with our Lord, and we can trust we'll see her again.

I'm amazed how much Heidi fit into her 25 years of life. I'm even more impressed that she did it all with a smile. She will truly be missed.

Heidi worked for us for a year and a half. We are so glad to have known her. She was a remarkable young woman with a deep commitment to her faith. She brought a presence of hopeful joy to work with her everyday. We are striken with grief by her loss. She was a bright light that will be so missed. Nick, Julie and Steve, Emily and Ben, we are heartbroken to hear this tragic news. We cannot even imagine what you are all dealing with at this time. I keep thinking back to that wonderful sweet and thoughtful young man who was my son's friend all those years ago. Nick was always looking out for the under-dog and so kind to all the kids- at a time in young lives when selfishness and cruelty are more the norm. Please know that there are hundreds of your friends back here in Pittsburgh who are uplifting all of you in prayer. Your faith will not fail you now when you need it most. I was blessed to know Heidi from elementary school through high school. I will especially remember playing tennis with her at RAHS.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.

There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
