Dear Plunket family,
Hugh and I practiced in southern Minnesota before we each moved to Cities. We had daughters together at Vis and fought the battle against one another from time to time. He and I had the last hearing before Judge Lord on the day of his retirement and I prize the photos taken. He was a fine lawyer and friend and I am truly sorry the Lord took him so soon.
He and all of you are in our prayers at this most difficult time.
Sincerely, Roger Brosnahan

While I only had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Plunkett over the phone when he would call in for Sean, he always put a smile on my face, gave a short story about Sean's childhood and put a smile on my face.

To Sean and Family:

There is nothing I can say to console your loss. I send my deepest sympathies and keep you in my prayers. If you need anything, please call.

Dear Mary and Family,

Margaret and I hardly know what to say. Valentine was our friend, a fellow trial lawyer, our buddy, a strong shoulder and comfort zone on many occasions, some which you probably know about, some which I'm sure you don't. But more importantly, he is a fine human being.

In discussing this with Margaret, it was just hard for us to get past initial thoughts and words and still is. We will continue to pray for the repose of his sould and he will be in our daily thoughts and prayers, as will you. He will be greatly missed.
