It was a privilege working for Jim at Kings Bay. We spent many nights at the office pulling slides for briefings. He had a unique sense of humor which actually made the long hours enjoyable! He was a one-of-a-kind officer and a great teacher. You have every right to be extremely proud of him.

My condolences to Mike who I knew as a young man while serving with his father Jim in a small office in the Pentagon, (ASD I&L.)
One fond memory from that time (1972-1973), after reporting in Jim, then a junior LCDR, immediately was asked to car pool by our office head, Rear Admiral Jack Dillon, CEC, USN. Jim agreed, albeit without great enthusiasm but soon realized his good fortune, Jack was a great friend. However, it took a long time for Jim to adjust to the Admiral's unwillingness to talk, even to return a greeting, at that early hour --until the Pentagon came into view.
Regrettably Jim's and my path never crossed agiain on active duty, or later. He was a friend and an exceptional Naval officer.

Condolences to you, Mike and the family. Was a great pleasure to work for him in Kings Bay. Although a demanding leader, I learned a great deal from him that I used for the remainder of my Naval and professional career.
Respectfully,
