James Ian MULVANEY

Beloved Son, Brother & Uncle 6.18.1973 - 11.25.2023 Age 50 of Mendota Heights. James, called Ian by his family, grew up as the son of Margaret (Mari) Perron Deeb and Donald Deeb on St. Paul's Westside along with his two sisters, Mia Perron and Angela Deeb. He is an uncle to nephews Henry Deeb, Jack Palmer and Sam Palmer who is his God child. James attended St. Matthews School and graduated from Our Lady of Guadalupe. Beginning in his twenties he became a proud Navy man serving on the Aircraft Carriers USS JFK and USS Kearsarge where he worked on advanced Network Security and Vulnerability. In 1993 he participated in the July 4 "Fleet Week" celebration in New York. On the Kearsarge in 1997 he was part of "Operation Noble Obelisk" rescuing more than 2500 civilians in Sierra Leone. He visited ports in Italy, France and Spain. The greatest gift of his service years was the lasting friendship formed with his Naval peer Rasheed Rambaran whom he called "Rambo". After the Navy, his computer security skills served him in his work at USBank. He was intense, well read, and well loved. He will not be forgotten. On Wednesday, December 6th there will be a 10:00 AM Visitation at the Church of St. Matthew, 510 Hall Ave., St. Paul, followed by 11:00 Mass of Christian Burial and 12:30 interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. 651-457-6200
