I miss you very much Papa Jim, you mean the world to me and there isnt a day that goes by where I dont think about you. Its been hard without you here, things just arent the same..but I know youre looking down on me with Grandpa Lester smiling! Im choking up even writing this, whew!! Me and dad play this voicemail you left him over and over just to hear your voice. I miss you so much grandpa, and trust me, you will NEVER be forgotten. I cant wait to tell my kids about you In the future, how blessed I was to have you as my grandfather. I have the rose from your funeral in a frame, and all your T-shirts and Hoodies in a safe spot, they still smell like you.. Well, I should probably get myself together here, gotta hangout with Jimmers.. I love you so much grandpa, Ill come visit you soon. Love your one and only, Weed. ❤

This is Fr. Paul Jarvis, pastor at St. Bridget's in Minneapolis and the Celebrant of the prayer service at Ft. Snelling.
I have to admit that some of the finest people I've met have been through the family of loved ones. This includes what Megan and Leah have to say about their dad:
"We know he is watching over us. And when our time comes to an end, we know not to be scared because we know our dad will be there to guide us once again."
My prayer and hope is that everyone will have such a protective figure in their life. A guardian angel, if you will.
On Friday, we remember a guardian angel to many ... and for our country.

I miss you Jim, your calls to tell me some off the wall joke, hanging out, many, many times with you and Mia. As you always said, "What do ya do?" I find myself saying that, thinking about you . Rest in peace , thank you for your friendship, I will surely miss the calls. It's tough, you meant alot to me....Vicker

Well,
I can only say im very lucky to have our paths cross in this lifetime! I looked forward to every visit with this guy- his stories were like reading a new chapter of a book each week.
And on top of that, let me tell ya, i so needed a laugh at least once a visit to make it complete!
Im also lucky to have met the people he loved the most- his family! Mia included :)
You all should be very proud-
I feel like i just cant do him justice with words- im sure all who knew him throughout his life feels the same!

Nathan and family
We are so sorry for the loss of your dad, he was a wonderful man and father. We all have fond memories of the baseball days when your dad and my husband Rick Martin coached you Nathan and our Bobby to a championship. Your dad was so proud, Rick really enjoyed coaching with your dad. We talked with your dad a couple years ago we ran into him, he was the same always making us smile and laugh. Your in our prayers and thoughts. Nathan. You have a angel watching over you and your family now.
