James Zaspel Obituary

Husband, Father, Grandfather, Preacher James Arthur Zaspel died September 11, 2009 at home. He is survived by his wife, Connie, of fifty-eight years; sons Paul and Fred of PA; daughter Ruth Bremer of Maplewood; grandchildren, Gina, Tim, and Jim Zaspel; brothers, Albert of FL and Ronald of Arden Hills; sisters, Ruth Ryan and Naomi Sandquist of FL. He was born April 17, 1929, in St.Paul, the son of Fred and Beulah Zaspel. He preached the gospel of Christ for sixty years and was known for his effective expositions of the Scriptures he loved so deeply. In 1975 he was awarded the honorary Doctor of Divinity by the San Francisco Baptist Theological Seminary "for his distinctive abilities in the handling of the Scriptures." His desire was to be remembered only as a sinner saved by grace. Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, at TWIN CITIES BIBLE CHURCH, 2555 Hazelwood Street N., Maplewood. Private Interment. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Twin Cities Bible Church.
