I was very luck and proud to know my great-grandfather. He was a wonderful man with great spirit and pep. I would have loved to say that in the next couple of years he would be a great-great-grandfather. He is now at peace with great-grandma Nancy, dancing and singing the night away to the worlds best Italian music in heaven. I love you! =)

I'll always remember 'The Candy Man' and all the movies he took of all of us kids at holidays with no film. I especially remember getting hit with candy coated almonds on my wedding day. Gotta love Uncle Johnny.

Len, Jane, Andrea, John and families,
I just loved Uncle Johnny and the bright smile he always had for me. He will be missed. I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure you have some great memories. One of mine happened recently when someone (not family) asked me who the man was at my John's funeral who was giving out candy. I immediately knew without a second thought it was Uncle Johnny! He must never have left home without candy. He was truely a sweet man. My deepest condolences to all of you.

It is with great sadness that the Levee Vannellis say goodbye to Uncle Johnny, our family spark plug, and entertainer, our kind, generous and loving, final Vannelli patriarch.

At least 5 generations of Vannelli children knew Uncle Johnny as "The Candy Man" because he always had some sweet treats for them and jokes and tricks for the rest of us. No party ever really got started until Uncle Johnny arrived, and every party was better when he did.

It is difficult to say goodbye but we know that he is now happily reunited with his beloved wife, our vivacious Aunt Nancy. Together, they will lend their unique sparkle and wit to heaven. For those he left behind, the world is a little sadder today without Uncle John, but we know he would want us to keep celebrating the family and continute to be proud of the Vannelli name he loved so much.

Our deepest sympathy to his children, Cousins Lenny, Jane, Andrea and John Jr., and their families at this time. We share your loss. Rest assured, we won't forget your father!

With love,
Susan

I loved my grandpa very much and now he is at peace and now with grandma. My grandparents were a big part of my life as they pretty much helped my mom raise me when i was a little girl cause my mom had to go to work and had to raise two children on her own.So my grandparents were like parents to me as well as grandparents. They both meant the world to me and now they are together up in heaven and at peace.I will always have great memmories of them both to tell my little daughter when she gets older. She did get to know great grandpa alot but as you know grandma past away before she arrived.I will never forget when we would go visit him on his last weeks grandpa looked at me and said i love you marnie don't forget that and looked at my daughter and put his hand on her face and smiled and said to her your my angel.I will always cherish them words. They both will be loved and missed very much.We love you grandpa(great grandpa) :o)

I got to meet and know John in the last wks when he came to live at the ramsey care center. He was a joy to take care of always had a warm smile on his face to greet you and he made me laugh with his witty comments or reponse when you would ask him something...I will always remember when he sang a few lines of his song to me and his tremendous strength and courage he showed us in the last week..He will me missed. My condolences to his family that i got to know, may you find some kind of comfort during this difficult time.
