Mary, I was a hurting 25 year old a long time ago when you took an interest in me and showed me John 3:16. I have never forgotten that. I know that your son must be a saint since he grew up in a home filled with love and genuine faith! My mother's heart is aching for you, God's blessings on you.

I went to Monday Morning mass at school. Fr. Joe said it was an emergency. I felt bad that he died and almost cried because my teacher was crying too. I never knew him, but I hope he is now peacefully in heaven.

We waited 2 1/2 hours and still didn't get to you tonight at the visitation. We were truly blessed to see how many lives have been obviously affected by Johnny. Mary, twenty five years ago you comforted me in my time of loss and I will never forget it! We are very saddened on learning of Johnny's death. As we have been so involved with our Grandsons cancer we can only imagine how hard it must be to loose a son at such a young age. I don't know your family, I learned of Johnny George through my daughter and was struck by the depth of faith expressed by his friends and siblings on his FB page. He, Johnny, truly shines brightly through their love for him and the strength of their faith that God is still good even though their hearts are breaking. Your Johnny was obviously an incredible young man, I am so sorry for your loss.

Johnny was in the confirmation class I taught at Nativity two years ago. He impressed me as a young man of faith, virtue and natural leadership.
On the first night of class, I had the students write down who their heroes were / who they looked up to. I remember his entry, because he said it was his older brother, who he admired for his faith and virtue.
I regret I won't be in town this weekend for the funeral, but I will definitely join in prayer.
