Joyce PROKOP

Age 91 of Inver Grove Heights Passed away peacefully on November 14th, 2022 Joyce was born in Salford, England where she started working at the age of 14 as a seamstress. She was the oldest of six and often played the role of a near mother at times to her younger siblings. She met her beloved husband David while he was stationed in England during the Korean War while he served in the United States Air Force. Their two oldest children were born in England and then they decided to immigrate to the United States in 1956 where she started a successful business as a Drapery Seamstress and two additional children came along. She was known and loved for her work decorating homes and getting to know her customers, often as close friends. She taught everyone around her how to work hard and how to stand strong, leading by example in difficult times. She also taught those around her how to love deeply and to love like there may not be a tomorrow. She will be missed beyond how any words could describe by so many that she touched. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, David; children, Debra and David Jr; brother, Harold (Jackie) Clutton; parents, Harold and Elsie Clutton; and brother-in-law, Graham McMillan. She is survived by her children, Susan Dobos and Chris; siblings, Elsie McMillan, Doris (Wayne) Scott, David (Anne) Clutton, and Leslie (Jenny) Clutton; grandchildren, Michael and Kim; great-grandchildren, Geoffrey and Liana; great-great-grandson, Thad; brother-in-law, Steven; as well as many other loving family and friends. A visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday, November 20th, 2022 at O'Halloran and Murphy St. Paul, with a celebration of life 11:00AM Monday, November 21st, 2022 with visitation one hour prior, all at O'Halloran and Murphy, 575 Snelling Ave. S, St. Paul MN. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred. 651-698-0796
