Beloved Soul Age 39 of Cottage Grove Formerly of Chisago City. Unexpectedly. Survived by wife Christie, children Alexander & Megan, parents Richard & Caroline, mother-in-law Bonnie Schroetter, sister Melissa, brother Erik, sister-in-law Kym, brother-in-law Nick, and other relatives and friends. Dedicated his life to being good to all people. Was a diligent, outstanding worker and provider for his family. Irreplaceable. Visitation 10AM -12 Noon with Funeral Service 12 Noon Saturday at Hamline United Methodist Church, 1514 Englewood Ave, St. Paul 55104. Interment Woodbury UMC Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred. 651-459-2875

I had Karl and Melissa and Erik as students at Chisago Lakes Baptist School. There is a place in my heart for Karl with his big smile. I knew he would be a fine man. My deepest prayers and sympathy go to you, Melissa and Erik, and your parents and Karl's family. I am so sorry for your great loss.

I worked with Karl for a little over a year and he was always there to help me out even when I didn't ask for it. I will never forget him. He was just a great guy who will be deeply missed. I wish his family the best during this difficult time.

Karl was a kind and gentle man. He was easy going and accepting of others. He was a 'behind the scene' worker, always happy doing whatever needed to be done. He was very much a family man, his family being everything to him. I will miss him and am really glad I knew him.
