Maureen, Chip and rest of the McSherry family,
Mrs. McSherry was my teacher at St. Odilia in late 70's early 80's. She was an amazing teacher with a very gentle spirit. She will be forever missed. May God comfort you all in your time of great loss.

The Loving Father with his heart felt ways has taken her to heaven to be with him. She is now in a peaceful and loving place awaiting for all of us chosen by him. May the Holy Sprit comfort those of us still here and may he guide in the place of his love. GOD BLESS YOU IN YOUR TIME OF SORROW & LOSS.

As my sister Gina Atchison expressed, I don't know how we would have gotten through the difficult ordeal of our mother's death without her. She started an awesome support group for children with deceased or divorced parents. What a special lady to think so much about others (I always knew that to be her way). She touched so many people/students at St. Odilias so deeply. There are not enough people in the world as special as your mom/grandmother, and she will be truly missed. I will always treasure the way she touched my life.

Dear McSherry Family,
My father recently informed me of Mrs. Kit McSherry passing away. I am sorry for your loss and have had her in my thoughts.
When I started teaching at St. Odilia in the 1979-80 school year, I realized that Kit was more than 25 years older than me . However, she always treated me as a contemporary and was truly professional.
As an assistant principal, Kit pulled me out of a few jams over the years. She was good at solving problems and matters would always end in a "win-win" situation. I remember her telling kids that if the assignments were not done there would be a "Come to Jesus Party" with her. It was amazing how her light-handed approach worked.
One year I went to a workshop near Red Wing, MN. The next day I told Kit about the area I visited and the trends in teaching. During our conversation, I realized she knew more about the matter although I was the one who attended the workshop. Go figure!!!
Each spring Kit would always talk about finishing the school year and getting ready for a trip to the cabin to be with her sisters. She always told me it was the one thing she didn't want to miss.
The last time I talked with Kit was in the mid-90s. I was walking out of the Burlington-Northern Credit Union and she tapped me on the shoulder. It was only a 2-3 minute chat about family members. I'm embarrassed that I did not talk longer, or keep better tabs on what she was doing the last 10-11 years. Heaven is brighter today because of Mrs. Kit McSherry. Daniel McGuinn Shoreview, MN

I had Mrs. McSherry for my 7th(I think it was 1979-1980)grade teacher and I have never forgot her. What a nice woman and so good to us kids. I remember her planning out liturgies and organizing everything for us. She always had a smile on her face and a skip in her step. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.
Please know you had a mother & grandmother who made a difference in many peoples lives. She was a gem.
Fondly,

To the McSherry family,
Please accept my heartfelt prayers. When I received the e-mail from Kathleen regarding your mother, my heart just sank. She was such a wonderful, wonderful person. She touched my family's lives so strongly. Without her, I don't know if my sister and I would have gotten through the rough time that we went through. I wish that I could be there, but the distance and the timing are just too much and too busy right now. I hope that these prayers are enough.

What a beautiful person Kit was! I treasured her friendship over the years. She was always supportive as a friend and always gave good advice. She had a wonderful sense of humor. I always admired her rapport with children. I am in Settle and will not be able to attend the funeral but I will be there in spirit. My prayers will be with her children and grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart.
With love,
