I was a Nursing School classmate of Kathy's. She was generous, professional, kind and competent as a nurse, as indeed she was in the other diverse areas she touched in her life. She had such a beautiful and quick smile!

Dear Thelen family,
Kathy wasn't only a mother of 4 but a mother of hundreds. She was the first smiling face in the morning in school. She always made school a little easier for all. Thank god we all had a chance to have her touch all of our lives. She is and was a very special person, and will never be forgotten.. I just know when it is our time to go, she will be standing there with open arms and her warm loving smile as we all remember her. God couldn't of picked a better greeter.
God Bless you all, and always know she will live in all that she has touched.

I remember at a young age sitting on the school bench outside the office waiting to be picked up. I used to panic that my parents forgot about me when they were late, but Mrs. Thelen always assured me mom and dad would be there, and she was right! When I was sick and wanted to go home I'd walk whining into the office that I didn't feel well and Mrs. Thelen would call mom for me and tell her to come pick me up. She was always so sympathetic and good with all the kids. It was quite a change when she left St. Pascals School. She was missed then and she will be missed now, but the memories will always be there!

To all of the Thelen Family- I just happened to be reading the Sunday paper and noticed the obit for Kathy- Dick, Mary, Ken, Terry& Jim- words cannot express my feeling towards Kathy- always a smile, helping hand and always an ear to listen. We shared many hours together on retreats . She will always be in my prayers and so will the rest of the family.I met Father Fitzpatrick when he was at St. Rita's in Cottage Grove and he had funeral services for my relatives. Remember all the good memories of her. Elaine Weihe Ash & family

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Thelen family and to the St. Pascal's community. "Mrs. Thelen" is one of my first memories at St. Pascal's (from over 30 years ago). Over the years seeing her at church (or at some other local event) was always so comforting, proof that God's Goodness is reflected through the works of others and can be found at simple community gatherings.
Thank You Kathy for all that you've done.

Mrs. Thelen, we were glad to meet the mom and the grandma who helped make our friends who they are. May you rest in the peace of heaven which you certainly deserve. Thank you for letting so many of us in Racine say good-bye in person this summer. Only a woman of great faith could request this opportunity. May good memories always remain of your visits to the "little house by the Lake."
